Clowning Around with Shakespeare

February 2, 2011

Weve often said that wed enjoy the works of Shakespeare so much more if
they werent so darn wordy. And if all the parts were played by insane
clowns.

Now weve finally got our wish with MöcShplat, a Clowns Gone Bad
production. This clown-noir adaptation of Macbeth will offer a
comical combo of Elizabethan text, French farce and European clowning that
will have Will turning in his grave.

Warning: Not suitable for children under 12, Shakespeare purists, or
people who are afraid of clowns.

From February 413, tickets $18, Centaur Theatre, 453 St-François-Xavier
(Old Montreal), 514-845-9810, www.geordie.com
