Chick Lit

July 12, 2011

Every woman has her go-to GNO (Girls Night Out) hotspot. Edmontons year-young Lit Wine Bar (across the street from Coup) has become just that for most, but as of late, theres a new girl in town.

Back with a vengeance from Vancouvers recently closed db Bistro Moderne, and before that, Lumière, Austen Neil is the new head chef at Lit on 104th Street.

Revamping the menu in West Coast style, expect share plates big and small, a focus on simple, seasonal ingredients and perfect wine pairings to excite the swanky female crowd who flock there.

Prized picks are the watermelon feta salad (a summertime blessing), lemon dill aioli calamari, and savory mushroom parmigiano flatbread. Throw in a salami garnished caesar, some cinnamon steeped sangria, and a few sexy, sultry singers on the weekends, and youve got a GNO worth the gossip.

And thats what chick Lit is all about. Caroline Gault
