The Girl Who Ate Toronto

After three days and four very memorable meals, we found Toronto’s
hotspots definitely lived up to their reputations.

Momofuku
: Sure there’s the shiitake buns and roasted rice cakes, but
for us, the most memorable part of the meal was the milk bar grasshopper
pie – mint and chocolate in a dense and not-to-sweet pie with a crazy
good crust. 190 University Ave., Toronto, http://momofuku.com/toronto

Libretto: Yes
pizza, pizza, pizza (which did not disappoint) but the arancini were
perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth rice ball goodness and the grilled
peach and prosciutto salad was summertime goodness on a plate. Two
locations, http://pizzerialibretto.com

The Drake:
After a long night, the cheap and cheerful eggs benny and caesars were a
welcome respite from TIFF madness. And the staff didn’t even balk when
we committed a cardinal brunch sin – bringing outside coffee in with us.

Union: Where comfort
food meets sustainable ingredients, we were so impressed with this
bustling spot. Stuffed eggplant, beets and burrata salad and the topper,
polenta smother in cheese and served in a bed of rustic tomato sauce
made for a very memorable dinner. 72 Ossington Ave., Toronto, www.union72.ca
