That’s the Spirit!

November 8, 2013

Small batch is always preferable to mass produced – especially when it
comes to our liquor cabinet.

New
craft distillery Odd
Society
is making a splash with its new space and signature spirit,
East Van Vodka. Each batch is made in a copper pot with barley grown in
Prince George and filtered with purified Vancouver H2O. Twice distilled,
the final product is a subtle, smooth flavour that can be served neat,
on the rocks or in a simple artisanal cocktaill.

Speaking of
cocktails, Matt Martin, Assistant Manager of Homer St. Bar & Cafe, has
whipped up this recipe for us.

Odd Aviation
1 oz East
Van Vodka
oz Luxardo Maraschino
oz fresh lemon
brandied cherry
garnish
Add ingredients into a shaker
and give it a quick shake
(careful
not to over-dilute this one).

Fine strain into a coupe.

Garnish with a brandied cherry and serve with hometown pride.
