cook’s day off

February 7, 2014

Microwavable T.V. dinners have a bad rap – and for good reason.

EuropaBut with the culinary savoir-faire of Europea Chef Jérôme Ferrer, IGA is proving that “prepared” doesn’t have to be a dirty word. The two institutions have paired up to concoct a line of prêt-à-manger meals that feature locally sourced ingredients with zero additives or preservatives.

First up is the downright delish sounding Quebec Chicken Fricassé with Migneron de Charlevoix Potato Mousseline ($10.99 at IGA).

It’s decided: We’re taking a break from cooking and letting Jérôme Ferrer take over in our kitchen, er, microwave. —Christine Laroche
