Ahh … nothing says patio weather like a plate of good food and a pitcher of beer.
This summer Vancouver chefs are teaming up with R & B Brewing Co. to pair the two (food + beer) in a single product, culminating in a series of local ales (appropriately named "Chef Series") creatively crafted to reflect each cook’s culinary ethos. Chris Whittaker of Forage restaurant, for one, has a hit on his hands with Nettle Mint & Ginger Ale: a bright, spicy and herbaceous brew with local nettle burst (one of Whittaker’s signature ingredients). The light, gingery beer pairs elegantly with halibut and hard, sharp cheeses, going down smooth and a little sweet.
