While "Fieeeeeeeeld Triiiiiiip" may not be something many music-loving Torontonians are audibly yelling, it’s most certainly on their minds. After all, the city’s very own equivalent to Coachella is coming to town.
This weekend, historic Fort York & Garrison Common will be awash in the sweet, sweet sounds of Interpol, The Kills, Maylee Todd, Austra, BSS, The Sadies, Constantines and many others, thanks to the Field Trip Music & Arts Festival. With temps on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th expected to hit highs of 26 and 27, respectively, we expect to see many a pair of short short make their premiere appearance of the summer.
If at some point over the course of the weekend you need a break from the high saturation of human beings, you can shop the Etsy Marketplace, where vendors will be hocking a selection of festival-appropriate duds, like leather handbags, bow ties and vintage sunnies. You can also get a beard trim/hair cut from the bad-ass boys at Crow’s Nest, get yer nails gamed by Pinky’s Nail Art or stick a temporary tattoo on your kid (yes folks, this is a family-friendly fest). Personally, we’ll be checking out the SoundImage Photo Exhibit to see some amazing shots by our photog pals prior to slamming down a smoothie from the Good Press.
