Authentic Tex Mex cuisine has never been one of Montreal’s strong suits. Until now.
Tejano BBQ Burrito is a small storefront (just a few seats) on de la Courcelle that boasts big flavour. While the atmosphere might be casual, these are some serious eats. Build your own burrito, bowl or salad starting with tender meat and/or zesty beans and lots of tasty toppings, like traditional pico de gallo, guacemole, cheese and jalepeno, as well as marinated onion, radish, and lime coleslaw. We opted for the 10-inch whole wheat tortilla filled with smoked chicken tinga, black beans and hominy, plus all the veggies we could stuff into a full-to-bursting burrito, while our dining partner chose a bowl filled with Spanish rice, refried beans and fork-tender Ancho Cumin BBQ Beef. And we found it right in St-Henri.
