Our new downtown go-to for shopping local is TIX on the Square.
This glass-walled boutique near City Hall sells more than just tickets to great local arts events; it also hocks the wares of 200-plus Edmonton potters, painters, screenprinters, fabric artists and jewelers (you know, all those creative types). Find animal- and landscape-inspired tops and tees by Salgado Fenwick and Whiteout Workshop for yourself and, for the kids, check out Japanese geometric design slippers from Sashiko Studio. Mad accessorizer? Grab a Sister Bear statement piece that incorporates modern and Prairie First Nations designs or pixie-sized food earrings by Little Day Miniatures. For the serious collector, TIX offers Ted Harrison-esque prints by artist Jason Carter and manly screenprints on wood from Finn & Burnsie.
If made-in-YEG is your mantra, this is your shop. —Miranda Post
