Little Brick, in leafy, historic Riverdale, is the fourth iteration of coffee house denizen Nate Box.
Housed in a 1903 brick home, this renovated space includes a café, general store and event rooms for small, private soirees, with white brick and navy blue walls, heritage hardwood floors, comfy tufted couches and sheepskin-draped chairs. On the menu: coffee from Calgary’s Phil & Sebastian roasters, baked goodies (try quirky, delicious sour cherry, pistachio and white chocolate chip cookies) and sandwiches. In the general store, Aeropress and Chemex coffee gear, artisan marshmallows, cocktail cordials and hand-hewn dark wood kitchenware, plus beautiful greeting cards by Sherwood Park-turned-Toronto gal Dani Kreeft.
The icing on the cake? A generous lawn area ideal for summer sips and get togethers. —Miranda Post
