New Eats: Old School

old schoolOur tastebuds just got schooled with dressed-up versions of diner dishes and BBQ.

At Old School—the new 24-7 resto from chef Brad Moore of School in Liberty Village and Ian Kapitan of Precinct—the fried chicken, coated with a satisfyingly crunchy batter and served with a dollop of sweet butter, is the stuff of sweet-and-savoury dreams. Ribs boast a satisfying bit of fat and, best, come with a chunky biscuit that offers a spicy jalapeño kick to cut through the richness of the meat.

Lacklustre service aside (fingers crossed it’s just growing pains), we could be very into some continuing education here. —Karen Kwan
