How to Make Better-for-You Fried Foods

October 23, 2015

t-fal actifry expressYou’ve likely heard the myth: using just a tablespoon of oil, T-fal Actifry makes the "bad for you" foods you’ve written out of your diet permanently possible (and, dare we say, healthy?) once more.

Well, it’s true. Tester unit in hand, we got down to some deep (but not really—you know what we mean) frying over the Thanksgiving long weekend. On our meal-prep list: chicken wings, chili and everyone’s favourite, French fries. The results: tender, moist Buffalo wings, mouthwatering, tummy-filling chili (topped with crunchy tortillas, to boot) and crisped-to-perfection fries, all using less oil than we ever believed possible. Best of all, with Actifry’s recent upgrade to "Express," this machine, which retails for between $330 and $370, depending on size, works up to 25 per cent more quickly than before (talk about fast food).

Verdict: anything is possible. You’re going to love this fryer. —Noa Nichol
