Rogue Wave Coffee Serves up Micro-Roasted Taste

December 4, 2015

Tucked into an industrial area just north of downtown is Edmonton’s newest coffee stop: Rogue Wave Coffee. Opened this summer by two guys named David, the small, bright shop serves expresso drinks, pour over coffee and, if you get there early enough, baked goodies from Knosh catering. Coffee accessories and gear is on offer too: think Chemex coffee-making wares or glass Brew Keep Cups.

Rogue Coffee Edmonton

Rogue Wave is the definition of hand-crafted: the beautiful natural wood furnishings were built by the Davids, and coffee is roasted on site in half pound batches. The aesthetic is simple and purpose-built; the shop’s tiny roaster is the centrepiece of the 10-seat space. Bring your favourite book and pair it with a flat white, or nab some beans to savour the taste of Columbia, Peru or the Congo at home. Not a coffee expert? The owners are great at fielding questions while pulling lovely shots or serving slow, hot pour overs.

Get ready to ride the next wave of great coffee. —Miranda Post
