Just as good as Nonna’s, only faster

January 28, 2016

Perched in the heart of the burgeoning hip district of Sherwood Parks’ Baseline Road (nestled between the new Joey’s and by the opening-soon Local) Via Cibo is the zippy Italian cousin to Burger’s Priest, the wildly successful Edmonton restaurant opened by the same owners in 2015.

Via Cibo uses a counter service model for ordering Italian fare and their well-edited selection of beer and wine. Simply decide between the pesto penne or the rose shrimp linguine, pay up and they give you a number to bring to your table. Food is hot, immaculately plated and authentic. Via Cibo’s vibe is big-city cool with large filament-style bulbs and a black/white/polished steel/red colour scheme. Best of all, the pasta comes out fast and hot. Be sure to finish off with a scoop of gelato.

It’s like eating at Nonna’s house, minus the cheek pinching. — Miranda Post
