Matcha Goodness: Tsujiri

Lifestyle & Parenting

The matcha craze is on the rise in Toronto thanks in part to a big café addition: Japan’s famous tea company, Tsujiri, recently opened at Bay and Dundas.

The matcha (stone-ground, high quality green tea, for those wondering) company, which was founded in 1860 in Kyoto, opened its first North American location in the city. Sample delicious, traditional matcha tea, lattes and desserts like matcha shaved ice cream, sundaes, macarons and airy choux pastries made from the Uji tea imported from Japan. The antioxidant benefits of green tea plus a flavourful and sweet treat in one beverage—yes please!

Be prepared to line up to get your matcha fix at Tsujiri, but it’s so worth the taste. —Julia Parfenyuk
