We all love the robot vacuums that clean house while we’re off getting mani-pedis, but for those who want to really get into those nooks and crannies (and love the satisfaction that comes with a good housekeeping sesh), there’s Dyson’s new handheld V8 Absolute Vacuum.
Completely cordless and created with a mop in mind, its sleek, light design (just 5.7 lbs!) glides over surfaces like a dream. It also comes with an array of nifty attachments—like the velour roller which left our hardwood floors shiny and scratch-free—made for manoeuvering into those hard-to-reach spots. And talk about suction: we barely recognized our bedroom carpet after a once-over with the 425 watt digital v8 motor (up 75 watts from the previous model) which removed an embarrassing amount of hair, debris and dust previously missed by our own vacuum. And those cobwebs up high in the corners? Zapped with a quick flick of the rod and push of the trigger.
The best part though, may be the V8 Absolute’s storage-friendliness. You’ll barely notice this skinny-minnie hanging on the wall-mounted charging station as it loads up 40 minutes of battery power for the next time you get the urge the clean (which, if you own one of these beauties, is likely to be often). — Lise Boullard
