It’s festival season in Montreal and we’re thrilled about this year’s Osheaga line-up (and even more excited to be heading there July 29 to 31!). With more than 100 bands expected to play during this sold-out weekend, here’s what we’re playing on repeat to get psyched for the festivities. —Jacqueline Ranit
1. Radiohead – Thom Yorke and the boys are back with their new album, A Moon Shaped Pool. Although favourites like ‘Karma Police’ and ‘Creep’ have a permanent place on our playlists, we’ve added ‘Decks Dark’ to get us further in the mood.
2. The Lumineers – ‘Ho Hey’ and ‘Stubborn Love’ will be blasting through our earbuds as we make the cross-country plane trip to La Belle Province.
3. Børns – At this year’s festival, solo act Garrett Borns will be singing off his first debut album, Dopamine. Right now we’re getting in the dancing grove with ‘10,000 Emerald Pools’ and ‘Electric Love.’
4. Haim – From their SoCal style to pop rock sound, we just can’t get enough of these Westcoast sisters and their hit, ‘If I Could Change your Mind’.
5. Grimes – Canadian synth pop queen Grimes is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer who is making waves in the experimental pop scene. Off her album, Art Angels, we’ve got ‘REALiTi’ on repeat.
6. Years & Years – Get ready to move to this electronic group straight out of London. Led by frontman Olly Alexander, their hit ‘Desire’ is what we’re desiring on our playlist.
7. MØ – Indie electronic artist from Denmark, MØ is a performer to check out. We’re obsessed with her hit ‘Lean On’ by Major Lazer & DJ Snake.
8. Lana Del Rey – The epitome of California soul, we’ll be pre-gaming with Lana’s ‘High by the Beach’.
9. The Strumbellas – With its edgy, popgrass sound, ‘Spirits’ always puts us in our happy place.
10. Red Hot Chili Peppers – We’re going back to the year 2000 with the headliners’ ‘Californication’ and ‘Give It Away.’
