Five Dishes to Try at This Year’s Fair at the PNE

The annual Fair at the PNE opens its gates this weekend and, for the gastronomically adventurous, there’s never been a better time to go. This year’s edible offerings are definitely a tad…extreme, and not for the faint of palate. You can see the full edible line-up at PNE.ca, but here are some highlights. —Anya Levykh

1. Mac ‘n’ Cheese Stuffed Burger

The handmade beef patty is stuffed with classic mac ‘n’ cheese and topped with classic burger toppings.

2. Big Pickle Dog

A new take on the classic corn dog, a deep-fried pickle is stuffed with a wiener.

3. Butter Chicken Fries

Classic poutine gets an upgrade with Indian butter chicken sauce over the traditional fries and curds.

4. Mini Donut Ice Pop

Because sometimes you just can’t decide. Mini donut chunks are swirled into a dulce caramel cream with cinnamon for the ultimate 2-in-1 treat.

5. Oreo Churros

It’s an Oreo…as a fried doughnut. All kinds of yes.
