We all love Dr. Seuss for his green eggs and ham, but did you know he’s a big deal in the art world, too?
In Toronto, we’ve scored the very first exhibition, If I Ran the Zoo, of all 17 of his unique sculptures, at the Liss Gallery. What he refers to as his “Collection of Unorthodox Taxidermy,” the sculptures are a zoo of Seuss creatures, often created using real elements of animals, including beaks, antlers, horns and teeth. And this month-long exhibit will include the reveal of the final cast-resin piece in the collection, Powerless Puffer.
Truly a can’t-miss show for both Seuss art aficionados, newbies to the scene and the littles in your life. —Karen Kwan
