Top Spots to Buy a Christmas Tree in Montreal

November 29, 2016

Going au naturel? Here’s where to score the sweetest-smelling sapin.

Quinn Farm

The Classic Route: Visit a public market! At Jean-Talon Market, for example, the Filion family has been selling trees since 1978. The bonus of visiting a marché? Plenty of food, music and merriment to be had.

The Budding Lumberjack: If you aren’t afraid of getting your hands dirty, trek out to Quinn Farm and chop your own tree. It’s fun (wagon rides!) and, yes, highly Instagrammable.

The Trendy Option: This year, the vacant lot on the corner of de Gaspé and Bernard streets in the heart of Mile End will be transformed into a public space complete with entertainment, skating, snacks and campfires and, throughout December, a Christmas market.

The No-Hassle Solution: No car? No problem. Like anything, a Christmas tree can be bought online and delivered to your home without 24 hours. Bonus: Sapin MTL will even pick it up post-festivities. —Christine Laroche
