Latin Fever

November 30, 2016

We don’t know about you but our taco and margarita obsession is not going away anytime soon. And while we would love to jet South to feast on authentic Mexican fare for a week straight, we are lucky that between Dec. 8-10, Mexico will be coming to us at the Sabores CDMX events taking place at various restaurants around Vancouver.

Here, in the series organized by Mexico City Tourism Trust’s Sabores CDMX (Flavors of Mexico City) program, three world renowned chefs from Mexico city–Chef Gerardo Vázquez Lugo of Restaurante Nicos, Chef Jose Manuel Baños of Aguamiel; and Chef Mario Espinosa of La Encomienda Polanco–will be partnering with local host chefs at Burdock & Co., Cacao, and Homer Street Cafe and Bar to present their innovative takes on the cuisine of their homeland. To make the offerings even more authentic, they’ll be incorporating ingredients brought with them from Mexico into the tasting menus and cocktails.

Participating diners will also be qualified to enter a contest for a trip for two to Mexico City, including airline tickets, lodging for two nights, and dinner at one of the participating restaurants, thanks to Mexico City Tourism Trust and Aeromexico. To enter the contest, diners must share a photo of their meal on Instagram using the hashtags #MexicoCityFlavors and #SaboresCDMX.

Don’t miss this culinary festival, which promises to add some Latin flair to these dark winter days. —VITA Daily
