With soaring ceilings, stunning pink Art Deco-inspired walls and boldly tiled floors, Oretta is a feast for the eyes.
And a feast for the stomach, too. While many an Instagrammer might initially be drawn into the resto by the design, the modern Italian fare is sure to please their palate as well. There are affordable paninis for a light lunch and, for those with a larger appetite, satisfying pizzas and a just-what-we’re-craving-right-now tortelloni (plump and filled with heirloom carrot and ricotta, served in a mini swimming pool of brown butter), among other offerings. In the back, a chic café, where you can grab a killer cappuccino and a pastry.
We think of it as the latest neighbourhood joint to join the King West strip but with an upscale, tasty twist. —Karen Kwan
