1. The Royal Bison Art & Craft Fair is only in town twice a year but always provides plenty of locally made trinkets to peruse.
2. The Alder Room hosts its first dinner service May 24 showcasing a 12 to 20 course menu of regional cuisine.
3. We love losing ourselves in a great Jane Austin novel but, this, month we’ll be doing it in the form of theatre as Sense and Sensibility premieres at the Citadel Theatre.
4. In case you’ve been living under a rock … our Oilers are in the playoffs and there’s no better place to take in the action than Rec Room in South Common. Beers, burgs and pucks!
5. If you haven’t been to Nerd Nite yet, get on down to the Needle Vinyl Tavern for the last event of the season, where special panelists will blow your mind with their awesome knowledge.
6. May marks the return of the High Level Bridge Street Car. Take a picturesque trip across the river in Edmonton’s oldest form of public transport.
7. It really feels like spring when the Downtown Farmer’s Market returns to its summer home on 104 Street. Catch the first one May 20.
8. The Edmonton Public Library’s Forward Thinking Series has brought some amazing minds to town. Catch the next installment, Combatting Urban Isolation, on May 15.
9. Fancy yourself a foodie? Indulge your cravings on an Edmonton Food Tour. First one of the season begins with a hearty helping of Ukrainian food at the Downtown Market.
10. Round out your May activities with a visit to Latitude 53 Gallery, where two exhibitions this month will really get you thinking.
