Newsflash: not all sports bras are created equal. And, as we recently discovered, choosing the right one—and getting fitted for it—is key.
We headed to La Jolie Madame in Vancouver for advice. Experts in all things "under," these lovely lingerie ladies had us try the Momentum Pro ($150) by Anita. This staple sports bra, available in sizes that run the gamut, boasts crossed front-adjustable straps and seamless molded cups, plus integrated sweat-management tech that transports moisture to the outside. Inspired by boxing champion Christina Hammer, it’s made to meet the highest athletic demands—but works for a gentle yoga session, too. In terms of fitting, a sports bra works just like a regular bra does, meaning it should rest firmly against the front of your body and between your breasts without any gap or gaping, and the band should lie exactly mid-back (no higher, no lower)—so adjust your straps accordingly. (See more bra-fit tips here.)
Thanks to La Jolie Madame and Anita, we’re feeling loved and very well supported! —Noa Nichol
