Check your calendar if you must: despite the fact that it’s definitely not April Fools’ Day, boot-maker Hunter is celebrating its iconic Original Wellington model in the form of a giant hot air balloon.
The 120-foot "Original Flying Boot," which carries all the OW boot’s design details, will lift off from Scotland to tour the globe, appearing at festivals, sporting events, shows and other key outdoor calendar moments; sometimes announced, other times by surprise (so keep your eyes peeled, particularly if you’re in the U.K., Spain, Italy, Belgium andf the U.S. this summer and fall)! Best of all, boot spotters from around the world that post pictures of the boot using #HunterOriginal enter the chance to win a Hunter prize.
Though Canada is not on the official list of scheduled stops, we’re crossing our fingers (and, indeed, our toes) the boot will make an appearance in our country (Hunter boots are, after all, a staple Canadian winterwear item)! —Noa Nichol
