If the word “serum” makes you think of magical potions for your face, it’s time to broaden your beauty horizons. Here, savvy serums designed to improve parts other body parts—plus a few that let men get some serum action, too. —Jennifer Cox

serums

lip serums. Clinque’s All About Lips gives your kisser a smoother, firmer look and feel, while Caudalie’s lip conditioner is formulated with near-100 per cent naturally-derived ingredients and contains a delicate vanilla scent with anti-oxidant properties, offering both nutrition and protection all day long. In the evening before you put head to pillow, slather on some Dermalogica nightly lip treatment, which has Indian gentian extract, advanced volumizing technology and sesame seed extract to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, and rehydrate dry lips.

hand serums. Give hands a little TLC with Crabtree & Evelyn’s hand primer, which has a powerful blend of seven natural extracts—bilberry, rose, lemon, orange, red algae and sugar maple and cane—and glides on easily to form a breathable barrier for the outside elements. Skin feeling super dry? Try Laura Mercier’s Infusion de Rose nourishing oil—a fast-absorbing oil that leaves skin with a healthy glow. In the evening, Aveda’s restorative serum visibly improves the texture and tone of your hands while you sleep by taking advantage of a blend of molasses and licorice.

hair serums. Got lock laments? Get Living Proof’s nourishing oil, formulated to mimic hair’s natural oil composition and provide coarse hair with breakthrough frizz protection. We also love Kiehl’s magic elixir hair restructuring concentrate with rosemary leaf and avocado because it’s loaded with a potent concentration of natural oils for shiny, healthy hair. For those who want to kick-start their way to Rapunzel-esque locks, get Grow Gorgeous’ super serum for thick, full and super healthy hair.

serums for men. Clarins anti-fatigue eye serum energizes tired-looking eyes and tightens eye contours (ideal for the guy who isn’t really a morning man). For the face, try Jack Black’s protein booster skin serum that offers a daily dose of anti-aging defense to eliminate lines and improve skin’s elasticity. For all-day protection, have him use Brickell’s reviving day serum for men, which stimulates collagen production with protein peptides in an ultra-concentrated formula to penetrate multiple layers of skin.
