Hi Christie! Tell us a little bit about you and what do you do!?
I created the first fashion job website in Canada called Style Nine to Five in 2010. I continue to run that (and LOVE it) while now offering career advice, resumé and cover letter tips (and will actually redo them for you), plus recruiting for companies big and small.
How do you use your platform to impact those who follow you?
While I love fashion, it got to the point where just covering that topic alone on my social media got a bit uninspiring for me. I want to offer my followers nuggets of information. Will they find it useful? I feel like at this point I have a tonne of knowledge to share and if it can help or inspire someone, then I’ve done my job. Find what lights you up and be confident enough to share it!
What’s your top social-savvy tip?
Show your face on your Instagram stories! I want to know who you are. Especially if you’re a business owner … what’s your story?
And your personal-style mantra?
I’ve stared wearing pieces from last fall, or the fall before. Chances are that chunky knit sweater you want to buy is already in your closet. I’m also about mixing high and low. I can find something cool anywhere! There’s few hidden gems at Kingsgate Mall in Vancouver I’ve been known to shop at.
What’s your go-to sleeping position, and can you remember your best night’s sleep ever?!?
On my left side! That’s probably why my left shoulder hurts come to think of it … ! It’s actually been about five years since I’ve been able to sleep through the entire night, so my best sleep would have been before that. Probably on a cold, fall, rainy night. Those are the best aren’t they?
