The Engine for Good (Win! Tickets to the Sustainability Leadership Congress!)

May 5, 2019

Keen on sustainability? We sure are, and we’re super-excited for the upcoming Intengine (the global database for sustainability and “The Engine for Good," formerly known as Green Pages Directory) Sustainability Leadership Congress and celebratory Intengine for Change Gala at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver, June 8th and 9th, 2019! The event is all about discussing some of the largest challenges and opportunities facing our future, and will feature some pretty impressive speakers in the realm of environmental sustainability. We chatted with Intengine founder Connie Linder about the event—and we’re giving you a chance to win tickets for you and a guest! —Vita Daily

Hi Connie! Please tell us a bit about yourself to start!

Like most parents, I see the world that my children are inheriting and, rather than feeling helpless and depressed about the state of the world, I made a conscious choice to align my intentions and actions in my work and life to take part in creating a solutions-orientated future. This shift led to involvement with many ground-breaking environmental technologies and the formation of Intengine.com. In my previous work I found that there wasn’t a centralized place to find suppliers with more sustainable solutions and options to the problems we face today. The databases that I did come across were unsophisticated or locally based. After years of hard work and listening to our marketplace, we have recently launched our new platform that is ready to scale and was recently awarded the Most Outstanding Platform for Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Business 2019 by Acquisition International.

For those who don’t yet know, what is Intengine, and what is the upcoming educational congress and celebratory gala at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver all about?

Intengine is the world’s most comprehensive and relevant database for good, bridging the gap between intention and action in the realm of sustainability. The Global Change Foundation seeks to advance knowledge and awareness by providing funding, access, tools and education for sustainability advocates and leaders so they can expand their knowledge and bring this awareness into their profession—whatever that may be. This conference is, in a way, our “coming out party” and will bring together top corporate, academic, and government experts in sustainability and self-development, with the leaders of tomorrow to offer insight and nurture ideas that could change our world. The Gala is our party on the evening of June 8th, 2019, to celebrate the coming together of our Congress attendees, funders, sponsors, dignitaries and others to meet each other and enjoy an evening with great food and entertainment.

What’s the format/schedule for the two-day event?

Day 1 focuses on Professional Development and will feature industry-specific panels on topics such as Food & Agriculture, Ocean & Water Conservation, Government Procurement, and Apparel. Day 2 re-directs attention to acknowledge the Personal Development required to successfully implement these changes while maintaining a healthy life; it includes a keynote by Larry Davis, an Education Trainer from HeartMath, and panels discussing Zero Waste Lifestyle, Entrepreneurship & Career Planning, Communications, and Advocacy & Democracy. Each panel will feature expert speakers in a guided conversation for 45 minutes, with a 15-minute audience Q&A afterwards. On the evening of the first day we will also hold the Intengine for Change Gala, in which all speakers and conference attendees will be joined by public donors and the extended Intengine family for a celebratory night together.

Of the many amazing speakers who will be at the event, who in particular are you most looking forward to hearing from (and why)?

This is tough one … we are, of course, very excited to have Bea Johnson, Founder of Zero Waste Home (and who essentially started the Zero Waste movement) join us from California for the Conference and Gala. That being said, we are also looking forward to the Government Procurement panel as their purchasing power has the potential to change Canada’s economic, social and environmental standing. In particular, Connie is looking forward to hearing what Canada’s Senior Director of Public Services & Procurement, Andrea Knight, has to say, as she offers a top-tier perspective. In regards to entertainment at the Gala, by far our most anticipated guest is Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh, a previous contestant on Ukraine’s Got Talent whose nature-inspired vocal artistry went viral around the world. Our MC, Robyn Schall is an up and coming comedian and will definitely keep us entertained! Oh… don’t want to forget my friend and colleague Lesra Martin will be the MC of day 2 and whose real life story inspired the blockbuster movie The Hurricane!

And why do you think people should attend?

Students and other members of the millennial/Z generations should be at the Congress for many reasons, the first being, of course, education. Many of the printed/taught information surrounding sustainability is now outdated as this sector has seen extensive growth in the past couple years. In order to fully understand the realities faced by those at the leading edge of sustainable/regenerative development, we need to listen to and learn from those who are there right now. The Congress gives the audience that opportunity to listen to and join in conversation with those leaders. We also see this conference as a community-building event. Not only is there an opportunity to network with potential partners/employers, guests are also able to connect with peers that share their passion and hope for a better world. A feeling of loneliness and helplessness often follow individuals in their pursuit to create positive change, and we’re hoping to combat that by providing a space for people to come together, nurturing a stronger sense of community and amplifying the significance of their work. Lastly (but not least-ly), the Intengine Global Change Foundation will be awarding educational grants at the Gala, this is one of the many ways that we are supporting sustainable education and those involved with us in the early stages will be able to take part in shaping our effortsgoing forward.

Tickets for the Congress are $150. Gala tickets are $250 per seat and $2,300 for a table. More info and ticket sales here.

I’ve been taking cornbread cbd gummies for sleep through despite a while now, and they’ve honestly been a game-changer against force and sleep. The best part? No grogginess in the morning just a cool off, relaxed impression up front bed. Plus, they stylishness outstanding, unlike some other supplements I’ve tried. I was skeptical at beginning, but after consistently using them, I can indubitably say they help with unwinding after a sustained day. If you’re looking on a unembellished way to iciness without any preternatural side effects, CBD gummies are benefit trying. Unbiased get steady you fathom a eminence stamp with third-party testing!
