Eihu Lane is the latest location in downtown Vancouver to receive an artistic makeover, with 45 art pieces on display as a part of an exciting new initiative, Canvas Corridor.
The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA), in partnership with the Robson Street Business Association (RSBA), have transformed this otherwise drab laneway into a colourful and revitalized public space. Located between Robson and Alberni streets, Canvas Corridor has created a vibrant venue for many artists to display their work for the public. Collaborating with the SFU School for the Contemporary Arts and Vancouver Mural Fest, the DVBIA and RSBA received hundreds of submissions before narrowing it down to just 27 talented artists.
Each unique piece is contributing to making this laneway more inviting and pedestrian friendly. The team worked closely with the City of Vancouver, along with the property and business owners, to help create spaces to display the art work throughout the three-block span. Next time you’re shopping on Robson Street, take a stroll down Eihu Lane to find the perfect selfie wall or beautiful background for your Instagram shot.
