Special Olympics Canada has worked to improve the well-being of Canadians with an intellectual disability through healthy active living and sports programing for more than 50 years. And, with the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games coming up in February, it’s the perfect time to "team" up with our friends at Kia Canada to raise awareness for the charitable organization, its cause and how all Canadians can make a difference through various contributions!
Indeed, Kia itself provides incredible support to Special Olympics Canada in a number of ways. Each year, the car-maker donates vehicles as transportation solutions to Special Olympics chapters across the country, complete with branded decals and messaging to raise awareness and encourage registrations and donations within local communities. Kia also supports the idea that everyone has the “power to surprise,” and that people with intellectual disabilities can and will succeed when given the opportunity.
Want to get involved and join Kia Canada in supporting Special Olympics Canada yourself? How about helping to raise awareness of Special Olympics Canada’s mission, referring a friend of family member to a Special Olympics program or making a donation? There are so many ways to get involved!
Kia Canada also features an athlete-of-the-month spotlight recognizing a different Special Olympics athlete or volunteer from across Canada to celebrate their achievements and contributions to the community. We’re spotlighting Matthew Williams, who says, "Special Olympics really changed the perspective of how I look at myself and really opened up a social opportunity."
