As temps drop, we’re looking to update our skin-care regime with some of the newest clean products on the market. Whether it’s one single product or a complete overhaul of our routine, these brands make the perfect addition to our shelf. —Vicki Duong

zero skincare. Exclusively new to Shoppers Drug Mart, Zero Skincare is a 100 per cent natural and vegan beauty brand from the U.K. We love that the products are designed with botanical ingredients and that all of the packaging is sustainably sourced and fully recyclable. Our favourite product at the moment is the Natural Hand & Nail Cream ($20), since we are washing and sanitizing our hands more than ever (hello, dry skin). The cream is a blend of sweet almond oil, coconut oil and shea butter to not only hydrate, but heal.

an-hydra. A new approach to skin care, aN-hydra is a waterless, essentials-only skin-care company that aims to reduce its water footprint and waste with simple water-activated formulas. We love the Hyaluronic Hydrator ($80) for it’s nourishing properties and high concentration of hyaluronic acid and vegan squalane. Each bottle can last up to three months and allows you to customize your care by mixing the hydrator into your existing skin faves or by adding water to activate.

good molecules. Perfect for the budget conscious, check out Good Molecules for skin care that won’t put too much of a dent in your wallet. To target hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone that comes with getting too much summer sun, we’ve been using the Discolouration Correcting Serum ($17 at Beautylish); not only does it visibly improve the appearance of dark spots and acne scars but also helps reverse sun damage.

midnight paloma. While we do our best to keep our skin in tip-top shape sometimes regular cleansing doesn’t cut it, so we turn to a cleansing balm to double-cleanse our skin. While regular cleansing helps rebalance your skin’s pH balance, a cleansing balm is the perfect first step to break apart makeup while removing dirt and impurities without ever being too stripping. Our new fave is the Cleansing Balm ($44) from Midnight Paloma, made with burdock root and chamomile—perfect for sensitive skin types!

live clean. When the air gets cooler skin naturally gets drier, so we’ll take all the help we can get to keep ours happily hydrated. Since we are washing our hands more than ever, we’ve been using the Live Clean Aloe & Agave Foaming Hand Wash ($6 at Well.ca), which not only leaves our hands clean, but boasts a 98 per cent plant-derived formula that combats dryness and leaves our hands soft and supple.

schmear naturals. Formulated with the mantra of “wholesome skin care made from real food” Schmear aims to offer natural self-care made from the nutrients of fruits and veggies, grains and botanicals. The brand recently repackaged its face masks into eco-friendly reusable glass jars and we’ve been loving the new look. To help soothe and brighten your skin, check out the Turmeric + Coconut Calming Face Mask ($24)—a bright yellow mask designed for dry skin.
