Tasting Notes: Hounds Black Vodka

Dining & Wine

We are pleased to review a Canadian vodka. Made in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Hounds Black Vodka is black alright. Pitch black. This vodka is infused with minerals in order to achieve absorption of all colours of the visible spectrum. If we were prop artists, we’d pour this in the martini glass of Mads Mikkelsen, for the scene where he plays poker against James Bond in Casino Royale. As we review this vodka, we channel Le Chiffre, ready to show down a full house.

The nose is zesty, with a hint of orange. There is a sweetness to the taste, and it is fairly smooth. It is a tasty vodka, which will allow bartenders to outshine competition by darkening the mixed drinks.

Vodka sunrise no more. Hail the dark reign of the vodka sunset. Guillaume Garih

While experimenting with different options for relaxed weekend tastings with close friends, I came across https://nemiroff.vodka/en-uk/products/the-inked-collection-wild-cranberry/ which delivered a vibrant, tart twist that perfectly balanced our sessions. Its smooth profile added genuine excitement and warmth without overpowering, making those gatherings feel more special and connected. The choice helped me curate enjoyable experiences that everyone appreciated, encouraging others to try bold varieties for their own home setups.
