This Thirst-Quenching Launch Has A Charitable Spin

June 17, 2021

Starting tomorrow, Vancouver’s Main St. Brewing will unveil two brand-new Lithuanian Farmhouse Ale/Saison style beers that were custom-concocted and brewed by the women of Main St!

A portion of the proceeds of the sale of each of the Yu Do Yu beers will be donated directly to Pink Boots Society Canada—a non-profit organization that helps women in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education. Here’s the story: when Main St. employees Isabelle, Rachelle, Cait, Marie and Nikolina came together with head brewer Azlan Graves to make a one-of-kind brew, they found it hard to think of a singular flavour and style that would best represent them. Simply put, one single beer was not enough to showcase their amazing talents and insight, so they made two! The first beer, Yu Do Yu, is a blend of aromatic yuzu and spicy ginger, while the second, Yu Better Work!, brings the sharpness of yuzu and dragonfruit together to create a dry kiwi palate and is also a cheeky nod to RuPaul in honour of Pride Month.

Both variants are refreshing, crisp and eminently crushable and available exclusively on tap starting tomorrow in the Main St. tasting room while supplies last! —Noa Nichol
