Canadian Clean Skin-Care Round-Up

When it comes to clean beauty, there is an overwhelming amount of selection available. It can be a bit daunting to find the right brands and products for you; however, there are many great products available in Canada to consider when you’re looking to update your skin-care vanity. Here are some of our fave Canadian clean skin-care brands. —Vicki Duong

truly lifestyle. Based out of beautiful British Columbia, Truly Lifestyle is a fairly new brand founded in 2019. With skin-care and body-care offerings, we have become instant fans of this female-founded brand. Our personal fave at the moment is the Vanilla Latte Body Wash ($32) that smells like autumn in a bottle. It’s scented just like our fave coffee order and provides a rich lather.

true and you. When it comes to skin care it’s not one-size-fits-all, and True and You aims to help you specialize your skin care based on your needs. Their custom mask ($65) comes with a glacial clay base and two boosters that allow you to become a potions master for your own masking. Boosters include detox, hydrate, rejuvenate, brighten and calm, making this new product a true multi-masker.

naetal. For their latest collab, Naetal has partnered with abstract artist Joy Kinna for a limited-edition version of their Body Serum ($68). This lightweight body serum hydrates instantly while colloidal oatmeal soothes and softens your skin against irritation and inflammation. Plus, each limited bottle sold sees 10 per cent of proceeds go toward Family Hearing Resource Center, Children’s Hearing & Speech Center and the Deaf Children’s Society of BC.

somerset moss. While it was founded and made in Canada, Somerset Moss gets their name from Somerset, England, the hometown of founder Sam. Her products feature a signature scent that was formulated by a master perfumer from England. Our personal fave at the moment is the Facial Balm ($40), because it’s truly a multi-tasking product. It can be applied all-over your face for an intensive boost of moisture or on the lips and cheeks for a nourishing gloss.

sangre de fruta. Clean skin care is more luxurious than ever and we are always looking to spoil ourselves and treat our skin right. One of our fave luxe products is the Neroli & Myrrh Botanical Face Wash ($114) from Sangre de Fruta. Not only is it effective in cleansing without stripping our skin, but the botanical blend adds an aromatic scent to our skin-care routine.
