When a Kardashian takes notice of a new beauty brand, it’s a big deal. That’s just what’s happened to Vancouver-based luxury skincare startup Ambari Beauty, which has launched a brand partnership with Kourtney Kardashian’s lifestyle platform, Poosh. The collab kicked off last month with an intimate event at Kourtney’s home and a guestlist of her closest friends and family, including sisters Kim and Khloe and mom Kris Jenner. Ambari Beauty will be featured in exclusive branded content on Poosh.com and its social accounts throughout the rest of the year. We chatted with Ambari founder Nisha Grewal to find out more! —Noa Nichol
Hi Nisha! Please tell us a bit about yourself to start.
My name is Nisha Grewal, I’m 28 years old and I’m an entrepreneur who was born and raised in Vancouver. I’m the founder and CEO of Ambari Beauty, a clinical high-performance luxury skincare line founded out of Vancouver B.C. I’m also a full-time mom to my two beautiful children. I grew up in a proud Indo-Canadian home where my parents constantly reinforced the values of ambition and hard work. I’m grateful for their guidance and attribute a lot of my success to the fact that I was always taught to work hard to achieve my goals. After completing a degree at the University of British Columbia, I began pursuing a chartered financial analyst designation. After gaining more knowledge about the economy and the financial and investment sectors, I decided to pursue my real passion which was starting my own skincare business.
When and why did you launch Ambari Beauty? What niche were/are you aiming to fill?
I began developing Ambari Beauty in 2019 at the age 26. We launched this February in the U.S. market and have already received amazing reception! Our products are now carried at both Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman which is a tremendous feat considering we launched just a few short months ago. I think this truly speaks to the efficacy and quality of our product formulations. Creating performance-driven products that could transform the skin overnight was my ultimate goal for Ambari Beauty. I’ve always loved the immediate results I get from medi-spa treatments, but finding the time to indulge in self-care as a busy mother and business owner was often challenging for me. There is a huge demand right now for products that deliver clinical results from home; Ambari is a great solution for anyone who is looking for a luxury product that provides instant results without the hassle that comes with a tedious multi-step skincare routine.
What products do you offer, who are they for and what makes them unique?
I worked with cosmetic chemists and skincare experts to come up with Ambari’s proprietary formula, The Modern Blend. The Modern Blend is truly what makes Ambari products unique. The formula uses a combination of clinical actives, smart adaptogens, and broad spectrum oil to give customers glass-like skin after just one use. We stand by the notion of quality over quantity and the idea that less is sometimes more. All Ambari products have all undergone extensive research along with clinical and consumer trials. We currently have three products available for purchase: our serum and mask and most recently we’ve added a new product to our line, the Complex4 Hydrator Cream, which launched in September at an event in partnership with Poosh. Our products are intended for the modern consumer who values wellness and wants to maintain a youthful, yet natural appearance.
A huge congrats on your brand partnership with Kourtney Kardashian’s Poosh! How did this exciting development come about, and what made it the perfect fit for you/Ambari?
Thank you! It all started when we gifted our product line to the Poosh team. Kourtney and the team fell in love with Ambari’s brand story and The Modern Blend formula and the partnership conversation began from there. Poosh and Ambari both strive to encourage health and wellness for the modern consumer, and so, naturally this partnership was a perfect fit. I’ve also always admired Kourtney for being an entrepreneurial powerhouse while also owning her role as a mother who finds time to prioritize self-care, health and wellness for herself and her family. As a mother and busy entrepreneur myself, this is something I strongly relate to. I couldn’t have been happier when her brand reached out to work with us!
We need more deets about the kickoff event, “Poolside with Poosh x Ambari,” hosted at Kourtney’s private home! Who was in attendance, and what was the vibe like?!
We kicked off our brand partnership with the Poolside with Poosh x Ambari event which was an exclusive health and wellness spa experience. Kourtney’s backyard space was transformed into a stunning spa oasis which was enhanced with co-branded decor, sound therapy, and gorgeous views. Guests received a range of luxury treatments that included a hydrating facial with our new Ambari Complex4 Hydrator Cream. There was no press at the event so it provided all the guests with a space to truly relax and unwind in a private environment. Some of the guests in attendance were Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian; Steph Shep; and Kris Jenner. We are so happy with the reception we’ve received from everyone who tried our products at the poolside event. To receive positive feedback and exposure from such influential figures is truly the ultimate reward for an up-and-coming Canadian brand like ours.
What can we expect to see out of the Poosh.com partnership in the coming months?
We are thrilled to announce that we will be continuing to work with Poosh throughout the remainder of 2021! The Ambari x Poosh partnership has some exciting plans for the holiday season that we can’t wait to reveal.
