Congrats on your collab with Threads! When and how did the partnership come together, and what made it a good fit for you?

The team at Threads saw a photo of me in a fashion magazine and with the popularity rising in all genres wearing tights, they thought who better to collab with than the queen herself.

Certain clothing items such as tights were once only thought to be worn by women; how and why is this shifting/changing?

Without stereotyping, it used to be a lot easier to identify queer people on the streets, TV, and online. A lot more people these days are identifying as all different walks of life, which makes wearing traditional women’s clothing a lot more accepting and natural.

In that vein, what products are included in the Threads x Tynomi Banks Tights range? What was the inspiration behind these pieces, and what makes them unique?

I spend a lot of money wearing many layers of tights so I wanted to put those dollars back in my pocket by collaborating with a great Canadian startup. The Threads x Tynomi Banks line is bringing fishnets to the forefront, which is my signature style of tights.

How do you hope people, men and women alike, feel in these tights? And, how will you be styling your fishnet tights?!

I hope people feel exactly how they want to feel in these tights. That’s why I wanted to work on this line. Whether you are feeling sexy, masculine, feminine or anywhere in between, this line of tights will do just that for you.

Going forward, what’s your hope when it comes to fashion and inclusivity?

Fashion is quite simply for anyone; whatever your style is. If you feel great in something, show it off and let the world know you are owning your look with confidence.
