Picnic For A Cause With B.C.’s Top Restaurants

August 3, 2022

Sure, you can pack yourself a picnic and grab a bottle of wine, but why go to all the trouble when you can pick up a gourmet picnic and some sought-after bubbles from some of BC’s best restaurants? The best part is that this delectable experience supports women in hospitality through Les Dames d’Escoffier and Food Banks BC!

Picnic and Bubbles takes place on Sunday, August 21, and is a collaboration between restaurants across the province and Les Dames d’Escoffier’s BC Chapter. The picnic for two includes a main dish created by your chosen restaurant, two side dishes, dessert and some bubbles to wash it all down. Tickets are $150 for the picnic for two and must be purchased in advance.

Simply choose which restaurant you want to order from and arrive at your scheduled pick-up time between 3 and 5 p.m. on August 21. Tickets and menus are available at Les Dames d’Escoffier Picnic and Bubbles. Note: these are no ordinary picnics! Check out the following menus:

At Popina in Granville Island you can pick up a Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich with Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Red Onions and Honey Hot Sauce, Shoestring French Fries, Coleslaw, a whole pint of Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, and Joie Farm Winery Tiny Bubbles.

Over a L’Abattoir the chef has a Vadouvan Curry spiced Chicken Salad Sandwich on house-made Milk Buns with Confit Garlic and Curry Aioli, Herb Salad, House Chips with smoked Aioli. Summer Pickles, a Corn Cookie with salted Bourbon Caramel, and Creek and Gully Pink Lady Cider.

Autostrada Osteria is doing a Harmony Farms roasted Half Chicken, Fresh Focaccia Bread, Olive oil, Warm, Savoury Cannellini Beans, a summer salad from Cropthorne Farm, Tiramisu and Fitzpatrick Winery Fitz Brut.

Juke Fried Chicken goes all out with a Whole Gluten Free Fried Chicken with spicy Peanut sauce and Tahini Ranch, Corn on the Cob with Thai Basil Dressing and Tasty Crispy bits, a Potato Salad with Pimento Cheese and Summer Pickles, Peaches and Cream, and the Pamplemousse Jus Gew Pét-Nat.
