B.C.’s Famous Flower Festivals Are Starting Now

April 12, 2023

Let’s tuck winter away and bring on the spring. The Lower Mainland is starting to bloom, and here are four floral fests you can begin to look forward to spending some time at. —Catherine Dunwoody

Starting April 14, the Abbotsford Tulip Festival, presented by Lakeland Flowers, is Canada’s largest tulip festival featuring 27 acres of tulips and over 70 varieties. Open daily, you can immerse yourself in walking trails—and photo opps are plentiful with cute bicycles and swings. Bring a picnic and bear in mind that select weekends will have live music and a food truck. Once tulip season ends, fret not flower fans—six more glorious months of floral fests continue on this site including 20 acres of sunflowers later in the year.

The Chilliwack Tulip Festival kicks off on April 19, now in its 17th year of promoting agritourism and the Fraser Valley’s integral role in B.C. farming. With 20 acres of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths, the flower fields are now located even closer to the entrance, making access super easy. Charming props make for Insta-worthy photos, like a 1950s Morris convertible and a 1965 Airstream trailer. A stop at The Farm Shop for treats and take-home flowers is a must as well.

Come June, Langley’s Full Bloom Lavender Farm is an essential summer visit. That heavenly fragrance and soothing purply shade is quite simply bliss in bloom. Keep an eye on social media for updates regarding opening dates, as weather is always a factor here.

The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival will also be returning as usual, in August, running until Labour Day. Keep tabs on their social feeds, too, for opening date announcements, closer to.

For flower lovers, the next four flower festivals will be a great carnival. Flower lovers can feast their eyes on their favorite flowers at these four flower festivals. To better participate in these flower festivals and enjoy the opportunity to take pictures with flowers, flower lovers can choose to wear clothes with flower elements and accessories with flower elements, such as flower lapel pins, flower patches, flower necklaces, etc. If you want to make your photos more naturally beautiful and personalized, you may want to consider customizing your own style of custom lapel pins with flower elements, so that the lapel pins can not only be worn by yourself, with clothing but also as a gift to friends who are also flower lovers. Wearing custom floral pins at a flower festival would be a great choice!
