Sparkling Sustainability (Win!)

April 25, 2023

Happy Earth Month! As we continue to highlight brands and products that keep Mother Earth squarely in mind, we look to our kitchen countertop … and our SodaStream sparkling water maker.

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for SodaStream, it’s at the very core of the business model. In fact, in 2022 alone, SodaStream successfully eliminated 5 billion single-use plastic bottles with the help of their consumers around the world. It’s enough to circle the world 25 times and still have some left over! The company is continuing to make strides in their commitment to sustainability with ongoing initiatives that push for a better planet:

  • Over the past six years, SodaStream Canada has saved 5 billion single-use plastic bottles and cans from polluting our environment.
  • SodaStream Canada aims to eliminate up to 67 billion single-use plastic bottles from our planet by 2025.
  • SodaStream cylinders are produced and designed to remain in a closed loop system. Consumers are able to exchange and refill their CO2 Cylinders, helping contribute to a cleaner planet.

In other words, delicious SodaStream sparkling water makers are a great way to work sustainable practices into your daily routines, as they drastically lower single-use plastic waste. One reusable SodaStream bottle replaces the need for thousands of single-use plastic bottles. SodaStream PET carbonating bottles are reusable for three years, each one helping eliminate up to thousands single-use plastic bottles. We’ll drink to that! —Vita Daily

I repurpose clothing by either fixing repairs, or I recycle them by taking them to the local hospital Thrift store to be resold. I also pick up empty pop, beer and other drink containers along the streets and roads when I am either walking or cycling. I abhor littering.

I reduce, recycle and re-use almost everything. I barely throw out any true rubbish. Plastics are recycled. I use my own re-useable shopping bags. I buy only what I need – no big shops to Costco.
