When and why did you launch Solei Cannabis? What niche were/are you aiming to fill?
The solei brand is designed around cannabis wellness and was first launched in 2018 when adult-use cannabis legalized in Canada. We wanted to create a cannabis brand that allowed people to ‘find their moment’ or their occasion that best reflected what self-care meant to them, and how our products could fit into that picture.
We found passion in challenging the old narratives of cannabis culture and understanding the need for consumers to find communities that foster unique experiences. Taking a holistic approach to the ways in which cannabis had always been received, we wanted to re-write that narrative around cannabis usage and provide products that allowed for Elevation On Your Terms. Self-care is personal and unique to everyone, much like creating your own cannabis consumption rituals and choosing how you want to incorporate cannabis in your life in a way that’s better for you. Why tea, why now? Tell us about the inspiration for the product.
Tea epitomizes wellness and is ritualized globally, naturally bringing people together.
We were inspired by the stories we’ve heard from our own friends and their personal relationships with cannabis, which led to crafting Solei’s beautiful selection of teas for people to enjoy alongside their daily wellness routines, or during shared moments with others.
As more consumers become sober-curious, we found that there was room to educate newcomers on getting started within the cannabis space. With infused teas, wanted to offer opportunities to allow people to discover alternative ways to consume. Outside of traditional edibles such as baked goods, candies, and a variety of carbonated and sparkling drinks, there was nothing available for hot beverages that spoke to the Solei consumer – the everyday ritualist that uses tea for comfort.
We wanted to open up the conversation around cannabis and wellness and challenge the norms around elevating self-care practices. With the new campaign #ElevationOnYourTerms, the goal was to empower people to share how they prefer to elevate through unique cannabinoid options in a drinkable format that we haven’t offered before.
As frequent tea steepers ourselves, we also considered the beneficial elements to overall well-being when choosing the flavours available, while embracing the messaging that only you know what works best for you – because the reality with cannabis products is that there’s something out there for you depending on your preferred application or method of consumption – what works for one person, might not work for another. Luckily with Solei, there are options that can meet your needs.

Thank you! We’re incredibly excited to bring beverages to Solei’s portfolio. Solei’s new tea collection features mint tea, chamomile tea, and green tea infused with CBD and THC in three perfectly balanced aromatic and tasteful infusions:
- Decaffeinated Peach Ginger Green Tea: Peach Ginger Green CBD Tea is a decaffeinated premium whole-leaf tea blend that brings together sweet notes of peach and a zesty kick of ginger that leaves you with an exceptionally well-balanced taste. Each pack contains five biodegradable pyramid tea bag sachets, each infused with 20 mg of CBD and <1mg THC and is now available in 5x3g packs.
- Lavender Chamomile Tea: Lavender Chamomile CBD Tea is a naturally caffeine-free, premium whole-leaf herbal tea. A gentle blend of soothing chamomile flowers, warming lemongrass, with the delicate floral aroma of lavender. This cup of tea is a beautiful light golden colour when brewed. Solei Teas are for every tea lover out there. As a brand that focuses on enhancing personal lifestyles, Solei encourages tea enthusiasts and both curious and existing cannabis users to try our new teas and enjoy a different way to elevate.
As for how it works, the cannabis is infused in the sugar that’s added to the tea, so to activate its effects, you’ll need water to dissolve the sugar, while the temperature will help diffuse the benefits from the premium loose leaf tea leaves within each biodegradable sachet. It’s safe to say, if you’re already a tea lover, there’s a chance you might be a fan of Solei Tea.

At the heart of Solei is an emphasis on offering products that support you in elevating on your terms, understanding that personal wellness and self-care routines vary for everyone. We wanted Solei to play in the space of conscious consumption; with CBN, CBD and low THC,these products are carefully crafted to empower users as they find their purpose and role in their time to unwind, refuel, recover, socialize and boost your mood.
For tea lovers, Peach Ginger (20mg CBD) is great during the daytime if you’re in need of a cozy cup of tea or as a sidekick to daily post-workouts – but for after work, Netflix and Chill sessions –try going for our Mint (20 mg CBD, 2mg THC) and Lavender Chamomile (20mg CBD, 10 mg CBN) that both just tastes great without any add-ons (sugar, milk option, etc.). Because of its range, these teas are also great offerings for hosting when friends and family are over and serves as a great alternative for sober-curious guests.
With flavours like Peach Ginger, Lavender Chamomile and Mint, featuring an infusion of unique CBD, CBN, and THC formulations, which tea is your personal favourite? What do you think will be the most popular?
My personal favourite is Lavender Chamomile – it’s soothing and has high CBD and CBN, with low THC for the days I need a little extra sense of ease. It gives me the best warming feeling with a mild way to take the edge off; however, our team has experimented with brewing 3 Peach-Ginger Green Tea bags in 1 teapot to create a more concentrated dose for mock-tail and iced-tea-inspired blends with optional sweetener inclusions. We also added dried fruit to try something different while still reaping the benefits of both the tea leaves and the rare cannabinoids. The ginger also provides a slight kick, but it’s a nice soothing beverage that we feel could please any crowd.
As for the most popular, that’s a tough one! We think each could be a fan favourite. The Solei Peach-Ginger Green Tea is very versatile, you can never go wrong with a refreshing Mint Tea, and drinking the Lavender Chamomile Tea is like a warm hug when you need it most. All of these can be enjoyed both hot or cold which allows consumers to experiment during any season.

The teas are now available at select recreational cannabis retail stores across Canada, including Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario, with the Atlantic coming soon – stay tuned!
These teas serve as Solei’s debut of its new beverage collection. With these latest additions to the family, we wanted to build up a menu of options for consumers to discover products along similar cannabinoid groupings. Later this summer, Solei is introducing more of its newest additions to its product family with more CBD-dominant options to kickstart the summer for those who love a good “off-the-clock” moment.
