How To Sleep Better In 2024 (Win!)

January 9, 2024

Happy New Year! The holidays are a wrap and we are a few days into 2024and holding on tight to stick to our resolutions for the year ahead. If “SLEEP BETTER” is on your list (and it should be) it is easily achieved with the help of Henrie, a Vancouver-based luxury pillow brand founded by Larissa Hildebrandt.

Offering a single, signature adjustable pillow filled with a blend of chopped CertiPUR-US memory foam and premium kapok, Henrie ensures a firm and moldable feel for optimal neck support in all sleeping positions. Crafted with a breathable, removable organic 450-thread count cotton outer covermachine washable for conveniencethe Henrie pillow ($199) also includes a storage bag to manage any excess filling.

“Sleep is the foundation for your day, setting you up for handling all of the stress, emotions and decisions that are headed your way,” says Larissa. “I think people are realizing that slowing down and resting actually sets them up for success.”

Check out the Top 10 ways to achieve better sleep in 2024 below, and enter to win! —Vita Daily

10 Steps to Achieve Better Sleep in the New Year

  1. Create a Tranquil Sleep Haven: Transform your bedroom into an oasis of calm by dimming lights, maintaining a cool temperature, and investing in blackout curtains to create an ideal sleep environment.
  2. Tech Timeout Ritual: Set a bedtime alarm an hour before sleep to signal the start of winding down. Power off electronic devices since the blue light emitted can disrupt your natural sleep-wake cycle, making it challenging to fall asleep.
  3. Establish a Consistent Pre-Sleep Routine: Develop a regular pre-sleep routine involving activities such as reading, gentle stretching, meditation, a soothing bath, and even using a pillow sleep spray to signal to your body that it’s time for rest.
  4. Mindful Eating Habits: Avoid heavy meals, caffeine, and excess liquids close to bedtime. Opt for a light snack if hungry and ensure hydration earlier in the day to minimize nighttime bathroom trips. Cut off caffeine intake by 3 pm.
  5. Invest in Quality Sleep Essentials: Upgrade your sleep gear with a comfortable mattress, quality bedding, and a supportive pillow, such as Henrie’s adjustable pillow for a transformative sleep experience.
  6. Nap Smart: Embrace short power naps while avoiding long ones, particularly in the late afternoon, as they can disrupt your natural sleep patterns.
  7. Exercise Regularly, But Early: Engage in regular physical activity, but complete intense workouts earlier in the day. Exercise promotes better sleep, but doing it too close to bedtime can have an adverse effect.
  8. Stress Management Techniques: Practice stress-reducing techniques like meditation, deep breathing, or mindfulness to calm the mind before bedtime.
  9. Stick to a Sleep Schedule: Set a consistent wake-up time every day, even on weekends. Use a silent, vibrational alarm to prevent a spike in cortisol and maintain a steady sleep routine.
  10. Upgrade Your Pillow for Personalized Support: Evaluate your current pillow and consider upgrading to one that provides personalized support, like Henrie’s adjustable pillow. Its blend of CertiPUR-US memory foam and premium kapok caters to all body types and sleeping positions, ensuring optimal neck support.
