February Influencer: Ashley Harris

February 3, 2024

A good word to describe Vancouver-based content creator Ashley Harris is sparkling. Rarely seen without a smile (and always ready to face a camera), we can’t get enough of Ashley’s fun food, beauty and fitness videos! —Vita Daily

Hi Ashley! Tell us a little bit about you and what do you do!

Hi Vita! I am an influencer, content creator and writer based out of Vancouver. My platform, @harris.ashley, is used to find things to do, places to eat, travel spots and more in the city and beyond.

How do you use your platform to impact those who follow you?

My main focus is on food and drink, which includes all of the best restaurants in the city. I would never recommend a spot that I wouldn’t come back again and again to dine at myself. Whenever someone tells me that they searched up my account to find out where to go for dinner in the city, it always puts a smile on my face. I have even had people message me to thank me for my dining recommendations. Knowing that I can bring joy through good food and a good atmosphere, will never get old!

What makes for “viral” content, in your opinion?

Anything relatable, adds value and brings that “Wow” factor is a recipe for viral content. Although there are many different ways to make viral content, I find that some of my most viral content has come from unique foods and experiences in Vancouver. If it’s something you would want to send to your friends, you’re on the right track.

What’s your personal style/beauty mantra?

I would say my style is pretty simple, with a pop of colour — especially in the spring and summer. My go-to outfit usually revolves around a trendy top paired with high-waisted jeans and some colourful heels to dress it up. I always complete the look with a touch of my favourite perfume, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia.

Trend predictions in fashion, beauty and decor for 2024?

I think we are going to see lots of re-peat beauty trends such as bouncy brushed-out curls inspired by the ’70s (thanks to the currently trending Dyson Airwrap) and pops of pastel for fashion. As for decor, simple, inviting spaces with lots of fresh flowers will continue to be in style.

It’s Valentine’s Day! How are you planning to celebrate love this year?

Food is always involved in my Valentine’s Day celebrations. Whether that be trying a new recipe at home, visiting a romantic restaurant in Vancouver, or taking a couples cooking class, anything that revolves around a delicious dish is the key to my heart.  Some of my favourite places to dine in the city, for a Valentine’s Day date, would have to be Caffé La Tana, Glowbal and The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant. The Dirty Apron is also a must for a fun and romantic couples’ cooking class.

Pantone’s Colour of the Year is Peach – will you be implementing this trend into your life in any way?

I have always loved the colour peach, so, I am so happy to hear that it is trending this year! I will be incorporating this colour into halter tops paired with jeans, kitten heels, purses and nails.
