Set Sail In Luxury On Norwegian’s Newest Ship

February 7, 2024

Set sail in luxury on Norwegian Cruise Lines‘ newest ship, the Viva. This world-class, state-of-the-art vessel’s motto is “live it up”, and it certainly does just that, both at sea and on land, as you set sail to six different Caribbean Islands from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Be sure to sip on a pina colada at Barrachina, in Old Town San Juan, before getting on the ship. Barrachina was where the famous sweet cocktail was created in 1963.

On board the Viva you experience and enjoy a plethora of things to do, from Infinity pools to soak up the tropical sun, to a 44,000-square-foot outdoor walkway. The impressive ship even has a glass bridge that stretches above the sea, offering views of the wavy ocean below.

If it’s an adventure you are after, slide down ten stories on the tallest drop slide at sea. Follow it up with a ride around a three-story go-kart track. If you are still feeling energized, play a round of golf or shoot some darts. The entertainment options are endless.

No cruise is ever complete without dining. Viva boasts an array of restaurants and bars, from exceptional French cuisine like the tasty escargot at Le Bistro, to chefs flinging food in the air and onto the grill at Japanese-inspired Hasuki Teppanyaki. Finish the evening off with a nightcap at the swanky Belvedere Bar, or sip one of the sustainable cocktails at the Metropolitan Bar.

Can you imagine an onboard oasis at sea? Once you enter Mandara Spa and step into your cozy robe you feel relaxed almost immediately. The tranquil floating spa houses a two-story waterfall surrounded by thermal salt water pools. Release stress in a detoxifying sauna, experience the salt room, open up your pores in the aromatic steam room, and even step inside an ice room to cool down.

What makes Norwegian’s newest ship even more unique is the Haven. Guests can enjoy an almost private enclave onboard, staying in luxurious cabins and suites with balconies overlooking the sea—some with a private hot tub. The Haven even has a three-bedroom suite for larger groups. Guests have their own elevator, 24 hr butler service, a restaurant separate from the rest of the ship, and, of course, an infinity pool with views of the tropical islands and clear blue waters.
