You know Sundays as one of the leading Canadian furniture brands, with connection being one of their main values—from collaborating with local community members, featuring artists in their showrooms, to supporting other local businesses and founders. Since nothing brings people together like a delicious meal, Sundays co-founder Barbora Samieian started an In Good Company series, gathering a small group of founders to dive deep into conversations about all things entrepreneurship and to share their wisdom, all while enjoying their meal on Sundays furniture. A perfect place to build connection and community is around the Sundays Frame Dining Table and on their Field Stool. The Field Stool was truly designed for hosting and gathering; originally designed for Barbora’s Vancouver-based salad shop, Field & Social. We chatted with Barbora to learn more. —Vita Daily
Please tell us a bit about yourself to start.
I’m Barbora co-founder of Sundays Furniture (and Field & Social), mom of four – passionate about design and community.
When and why did you launch Sundays? What niche were/are you aiming to fill?
Fall 2019, with a goal to curate thoughtfully designed pieces made for real life. As parents of young kids, who loved design, I noticed that the furniture shopping experience could be overwhelming and we saw an opportunity to create a furniture experience that is relaxed, easy and full of good vibes – just like Sunday morning.
What products do you currently offer, and what makes them unique?
While we started with living room pieces only, over the last 4 years have expanded to dining and bedroom, with the same intention that we started with a thoughtfully designed, curated collection. We focus on quality and multi-functionality both in the design and the materials we choose (ie performance fabrics, solid woods, modular pieces).
How does “connection” figure (and manifest) as one of Sundays’ main values?
Connection is an important value to us at Sundays, whether it’s collaborating with a local creative on a product, featuring an artist in our showroom or supporting other local businesses and founders.
Tell us about your In Good Company series; what was the impetus for this dinner program, and what have the takeaways been for those involved?
This is a group of founders that I’ve regularly been meeting with since Sundays was founded and we support each other (Wilet bedding is featured in all Sundays showrooms and Flourist was one of the Field & Social first suppliers of locally supplied grains at Field & Social). This was a natural group to bring together to kick this series off, and feast on the delicious food by Flourist. There is nothing like a gathering with some delicious food in a beautiful space that can foster connection and build community. We intentionally kept the group small for the dinner so we could get into deeper conversation and have a chance to interact with everyone. We also love the idea of that ‘Sunday feeling’ every day of the week, and so sneaking out on a weekday and pausing a busy day to be inspired was also intentional.
What would you say are your top Sundays pieces around/on which to build connection and community, and why?
The Field Stool and The Frame Dining table are my top choices. The Field stool was originally designed for our Field & Social Mount Pleasant location – so truly for hosting and gathering, and feeding community.

I totally get why people are cautious about these novelty diploma services, some are just big names, nothing much. From experience, I have worked with a service that got me exactly what I wanted. I was able to get my high school transcripts, and you don’t have to worry about those random delays or sloppy work.

I ended up searching how to get a copy of your high school diploma online. I was really surprised at what I found. Some services seemed legit and others just looked shady to me. Even with the way their templates looked like. There was one that had a really good high school diploma template that I actually decided to go with.
