3 Wireless Printers Perfect For The Not-So-Tech-Savvy Dad (Win!)

June 11, 2024

As much as we’ve digitalized almost every aspect of life, in certain instances, the need for a hard copy of some document or other remains real—especially when it comes to members of older generations, who didn’t grow up with tablets and smartphones. I’m speaking from personal experience here: any time he needs something printed, it’s me who my dad calls. Thankfully, using a printer has become easier than ever. Epson, for one, offers a wide range of printers with features that make it easy for anyone to use—even those who may not be great with technology. With Father’s Day just around the corner, any one of the wireless, easy-to-operate options below would make a great gift for dad—including mine. —Sidra Sheikh

ET-4850 Wireless Colour All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer ($599.99)

Available in black or white, this all-in-one printer can do it all and easily too. It is wireless, but has the capability of ethernet – this means either no cables or the option to stay plugged in; low maintenance either way. To make things easier, the ink is cartridge-free and comes with up to two years worth in the box and the ink tanks are high-capacity meaning ink does not need to be filled often. There’s also a built-in scanner and copier and everything is touchscreen. If that wasn’t enough, it’s also eco-friendly. A great option for those that need to print often.

ET-2850 Wireless Colour All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer ($399.99)

Great for day-to-day printing tasks, this wireless, all-in-one, cartridge-free printer also comes equipped with up to two years of ink in the box and high capacity ink tanks. It can be connected via any smart device for quick and easy printing. It also can be used as a scanner and copier and again this option is also eco-friendly. A great option for those that print regularly.

Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Wireless Color All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer ($249.99)

A number one best-seller on Amazon, this is the ideal basic home printer that’s not so basic. With the same great features as most of the Epsons line of printers, this option is also  wireless, cartridge-free with up to two years of ink in the box and has high capacity tanks. A great option for those that may not print as regularly.

I’ve gone back to school at 49, and as a woman with ADHD, find that it’s easier to read hardcopies of documents instead of online. I print off content to read, highlight, and scribble notes on. My Samsung laser printer is from 2005 (really), showing its age, and only prints one side of the paper. Also, the software is no longer supported by Mac or PC!

    Behold: the 19-year-old printer!

Our mom just died and there are sooooo many paperwork to be done. Printing them and giving everyone a copy will help us to keep track of where we’re at and what’s still to be done.
