Makeup trends come and go, but one that’s been around for the last few seasons is blush—a whole lotta blush. A flush of colour adds youthfulness while creating a sunkissed look. The latest application of blush taking over social media is sunset blush, which, as the name suggests, combines warm orange and soft pink to create an ombré look. Here are a few of our favourite vibrant blushes. —Vicki Duong
charlotte tilbury. The self-appointed queen of glow, Charlotte Tilbury is back with a new multiuse product, the Beautiful Skin Lip and Cheek Glow ($54). What started as a one shade product (her signature Pillow Talk) is now available in bright shades, like a neon pink and bright red. Don’t let the colour in the pan scare you off, the colours diffuse into a soft glow when buffed into the skin.
NARS. A cult favourite, the NARS blush ($46) has recently been reformulated to be talc-free and still as pigmented as ever. Still available in their signature matte and shimmer finishes, my favourite still remains to be Torrid, a warm coral with golden shimmer that leaves the right amount of bright blush that looks like you’ve spent the day at the beach.
makeup by mario. You can always trust Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist to know a thing or two about impactful pigmentation and blendable blushes. Makeup by Mario’s Soft Pop Blush Sticks ($44) are a creamy formula in a convenient and easy-to-apply stick formula with a dual-ended design with a built-in brush.
fenty beauty. Get you glow on while adding a bit of a rosy hue to your cheeks with Fenty Beauty’s newest hybrid formula, a blushlighter ($36). This limited edition offering is both a blush and a highlight with a creamy finish packed with golden-shimmer and creates the perfect dewy finish.
nudestix. Can a blush also be skincare? With Nudestix’s Nudie Matte + Glow Core blush ($34) it can be. While the finish is dewy and blendable as is expected with Nudestix products, what makes this blush special is the skin-loving ingredients, including peptides to nourish and plumb, and ceramides to repair the skin’s barrier.
