Mia Rose and Frank is known for its curated and timeless pieces. What inspired you to start the brand, and what values guide your choices in product selection?
My inspiration for Mia Rose & Frank started with my love of hosting and a passion for making every gathering—and gift—feel special. I realized how hard it was to find linens and gifts that truly felt unique and embodied the timeless elegance I was after. So, drawing on my background in luxury retail, I was inspired to create a brand that offers curated, bespoke pieces, with every detail carefully chosen for beauty and lasting quality.
When it comes to choosing products, I believe in two things: quality and sustainability. I select only the finest European linens, known for their natural beauty and incredible durability, and work with trusted suppliers who prioritize green practices. To me, it’s all about investing in pieces that will last and creating designs that feel fresh yet classic. My hope is that each piece from Mia Rose & Frank finds a place in someone’s home, adding a little joy and elegance—or becoming that perfectly personal gift wrapped in love.
Your products embody both elegance and warmth — perfect for the holiday season. What are some key pieces from your collection that you think every home should have for a cozy holiday atmosphere?
I believe there are a few key pieces that make all the difference. First, a set of our monogrammed napkins adds that perfect personalized touch to any table—timeless & chic. Don’t forget a charming guest towel in the powder room – It’s a little detail that makes a big impression, instantly welcoming friends and family with a touch of thoughtful style. Nothing says refined comfort like our baby alpaca throw. Soft, warm, and oh-so-elegant draped over a chair or the arm of a sofa. And, of course, a personalized notepad is a must-have for keeping track of every holiday detail, from dinner menus to last-minute gift ideas. It’s practical, but we promise it’s also pretty enough to leave out on the counter!
When it comes to holiday decorating, what’s your approach to blending seasonal decor with timeless style so that the space feels festive yet sophisticated?
To keep holiday decor feeling sophisticated, I start with a classic, neutral foundation—think crisp whites, soft ivories, and muted metallics. These base colours create a refined canvas that lets a few festive accents stand out without overwhelming the space. For example, white or ivory table linens make a beautiful foundation.I then bring in seasonal elements like natural evergreens, bowls of citrus or even pomegranates. I also introduce these elements into our embroidery designs as they give such a subtle nod to the holidays and bring warmth to the space while keeping it feeling organic and elegant. Lastly, I layer in one or two festive hues like deep berry red or rich emerald green to bring in some flair for the season.
Do you have any tips for creating a beautiful holiday tablescape that feels welcoming but also visually stunning?
Absolutely! My first tip is to start with a meaningful color palette that works with your space. Choosing two or three harmonious colours to create a grounded look; for instance, a soft ivory with touches of gold and deep green feels festive without feeling overly traditional.
Next, layer in textures to add richness and depth – I love layering linen placemats over a linen tablecloth, napkins with embroidered details and a mix of candle height then incorporating natural touches like evergreen branches and deep hued florals. That welcoming feeling comes from the personal touch – add a handwritten place card or a small, thoughtful gift at each setting. These little touches create a sense of intimacy, letting each guest know their presence is cherished. It’s inviting and beautiful.
Many people struggle with finding the right balance between holiday decor and their existing style. How would you advise them to incorporate holiday pieces from Mia Rose and Frank to enhance, rather than overwhelm, their space?
I recommend starting with small, versatile touches that elevate your space rather than changing it completely. For example, adding a Mia Rose & Frank embroidered guest towel to your powder room or cocktail napkins to your pre-dinner drinks. These are thoughtful, festive touches that introduce holiday charm without overwhelming the space. And the best part? Building your entertaining collection with pieces like these means you’re investing in items you’ll love to use all year round. Our linens and tableware are designed with timeless style in mind, so whether it’s a holiday gathering or a simple Sunday brunch, these pieces make every occasion feel a little more special.
