5 Fantastic Wellness-Inspired Birthday Party Ideas

If you’re tired of the same o’l dinner parties or brewery nights, and want to throw together a birthday that’s also a memorable bonding experience, we got you. For those of us who believe in celebrating birthdays (birthday month people) here are five incredible wellness-inspired ways to celebrate your next trip around the sun. 

First up: one of the most memorable birthday parties we’ve been to was a Gua Sha Spa Birthday Afternoon led by Gretchen from Wildflower Beauty Bar. She can come to your home to lead a Gua Sha Tutorial for a group of your nearest and dearest. She’ll bring a host of luxe products from brands like Laurel, Gua Sha boards for each guest (could double as adult goodie bags), and lead a full DIY Gua Sha facial routine – including mini Face Readings, facial acupuncture techniques, and ideal pressure to use. 

Next idea: A long table dinner party with psychic readings for every guest. You know when you get the same great tip three times in a week? Expect a delicious dinner, intentional conversation, and 1:1 readings for each and every guest – an experience that’s equal parts magical and meaningful.  

Third: A Gene Keys Birthday Party. This may not yet be a thing . . . but it should be! For an afternoon or evening with a small group, you could hire a Gene Keys expert like Kryste Mishra to come to your home to teach about the Gene Keys, create a custom Gene Keys chart for each guest, and share mini readings for each guest. Pair with great food (and possibly wine!) and you’ve got yourself a magical party.

Fourth: For a birthday that feels both grounding and expansive, there’s nothing like a small group breathwork & visioning session. These are extra special with a theme, such as ‘manifesting your dream life’ or ‘stepping into your future self’ or celebrating the birthday girl (or boy) with affirmations about their magical path ahead. Breathwork is one of the most powerful ways to connect within, and with others. Recently, I led a breathwork visioning session for a group of women at Conscious Lab, specifically themed to help the group step into future self realities. So powerful. 

And last but definitely not least- for nature lovers and sauna/ cold plunge enthusiasts, gather a group of friends and book into a gorgeous spot like Sisu Swim Sauna in Deep Cove or The Wellness Den in Langley. Sisu will pick you up in idyllic Deep Cove for a couple of hours on their floating sauna (yes, floating!), while The Wellness Den has that idyllic farm-life setting. Both could be paired with a breathwork or meditation session for full-body clarity and deep relaxation, and some great snacks and kombucha. 

It’s remarkably easy to plan any of the above parties. But, if you’re less of a planner and still want a unique idea, you could always bring a group of your friends to one of the meta dance parties at TurF studio, or to a private reformer or mat pilates class at the new ALL studio in Railtown, or to a sound bath with someone like Tianne Allen or Farhad Khan.
