If you’ve ever wanted to live inside a piece of art, Fairmont Pacific Rim is making that dream a reality. The luxury hotel has officially debuted Suite X—a visionary new suite created in collaboration with iconic Canadian visual artist and author Douglas Coupland, alongside the hotel’s co-owners, Westbank and Peterson.
Inspired by Coupland’s genre-defining novel Generation X, the suite is as much an immersive art installation as it is a luxe overnight stay. Situated on the Fairmont Gold floor, with panoramic views of Vancouver’s waterfront and mountains, Suite X merges pop-art aesthetics with bold design, custom furniture, curated literature, and original works by Coupland himself.
“I’m very much a product of the late 20th century, and this suite reflects my deep love for that era,” says Coupland. “When I was growing up, Vancouver felt like nowhere—and then, post-Olympics, it suddenly became somewhere.”
Meant to evoke the experience of stepping into the artist’s own living room, the suite reflects Coupland’s signature lens on identity, technology, and culture. Every design detail—from the in-suite bar to the unexpected moments of reflection—is shaped by his distinct creative language.
Suite X also expands on Fairmont Pacific Rim’s recently reimagined Fairmont Gold experience, offering guests a nature-inspired urban sanctuary with elevated services and amenities.
“Suite X represents the intersection of hospitality and artistry,” says Jens Moesker, Regional VP and General Manager of Fairmont Pacific Rim. “Collaborating with Douglas Coupland has been an incredible creative journey.”
Now open for bookings, this one-of-a-kind suite offers more than just a night away—it’s a chance to step inside the cultural imagination of one of Canada’s most iconic voices.
