Moxi Magic: The Gentle Laser That’s Changing Skin At Every Age

When it comes to skincare, the word “laser” can sound intimidating—summoning visions of raw, red skin and weeks of downtime. But in White Rock, B.C., Leah Corrin of Essence of L MediSpa is introducing clients to a treatment that flips that narrative. Enter Moxi, a gentle, non-ablative laser that’s fast becoming the gold standard for prevention, correction, and glow.

“Moxi is known as a ‘prejuvenation’ laser treatment,” Leah explains. “It helps prevent and delay visible signs of aging by working deep at the cellular level—stimulating collagen renewal, improving skin tone and texture, and enhancing overall skin health before significant damage sets in.”

Prevention, Correction, Rejuvenation

According to Leah, the beauty of Moxi is its adaptability. “In your 20s and 30s, Moxi is about prevention—keeping skin strong and resilient before damage sets in. By your 30s and 40s, it shifts into early correction and maintenance. In your 40s and beyond, it’s a tool for gentle rejuvenation and tone correction.”

The technology behind it? A 1927 nanometer laser that creates microscopic zones of thermal injury in the skin without vaporizing the surface tissue. “These micro-injuries trigger a healing response while leaving surrounding tissue intact,” she says. “That’s why recovery is faster and downtime is so much less compared to more aggressive lasers.”

A “Gateway” Laser with Sophisticated Tech

Often described as a modern-day micro-laser peel, Moxi is gentle enough to be a first-time laser but sophisticated enough for long-term skin goals. “What really sets it apart is its versatility across ages and skin tones,” Leah notes. “Moxi uses a proprietary scanning pattern and adjustable energy settings, which makes it flexible for everything from light prejuvenation to moderate correction or advanced stacking with other treatments.”

And unlike ablative lasers like CO₂ or Er:YAG, Moxi doesn’t remove surface layers of skin—meaning less risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, infection, or prolonged redness. “It’s safe for all skin tones and suitable year-round, with proper SPF use,” she adds.

The Healing Journey

So what exactly happens after treatment? Leah describes it as a fascinating process. “Because Moxi is non-ablative, the energy doesn’t remove the top layer of skin—it creates controlled thermal injury beneath it. In the days after, the skin forms what we call MENDS—microscopic epidermal necrotic debris. They look like a bronzed, freckled, sandpaper-like texture, especially in areas with more sun damage or pigmentation. These naturally shed off in about three to five days, revealing fresher, clearer, more even skin underneath.”

Who It’s For—and Who It’s Not

“The ideal Moxi candidate is someone looking for gentle, preventative, or corrective rejuvenation with minimal downtime,” Leah says. That includes anyone worried about pigmentation, early aging, or simply maintaining a healthy glow. But she also stresses that Moxi isn’t for everyone. “If someone comes in expecting a ‘one-and-done’ transformation or they have deeper wrinkles, scarring, or severe texture, I’ll recommend other treatments.”

A Year-Round Solution

Unlike aggressive resurfacing lasers, which are best saved for winter months, Moxi is safe even in sunnier seasons. “Because Moxi leaves the skin barrier intact, the risk of complications is low,” Leah says. “Post-treatment, patients only deal with mild redness and the bronzed MENDS that flake away in a few days. It’s much easier to continue normal life—even with incidental sun exposure—as long as you’re diligent with sunscreen and hats.”

Powerful in Combination

One of Leah’s favourite aspects of Moxi is how seamlessly it integrates into a broader skin plan. “It’s perfect with BBL, which targets vascular and pigment concerns, while Moxi boosts turnover and collagen. For textural issues, I pair it with microneedling—Moxi refines the surface while microneedling remodels deeper collagen. It also complements injectables beautifully, because while toxins and fillers provide structure, Moxi improves overall skin quality. The result is more balanced and natural.”

Subtle, Yet Meaningful

Leah emphasizes realistic expectations. “A big misconception is that Moxi will give dramatic, one-and-done results like an aggressive resurfacing laser. In reality, it’s designed for prevention and subtle correction. Most patients need three to four sessions about a month apart, then maintenance every six to twelve months. I like to tell people it’s like going to the gym for your skin—consistency builds results.”

Beyond the Face

“Moxi isn’t just for the face,” Leah shares. “We treat the neck, chest, arms, and hands—places where sun damage shows up early. It’s a versatile tool for overall tone and texture improvement.”

Post-Care: Keep It Simple, Keep It Safe

If there’s one thing Leah stresses, it’s aftercare. “Post-treatment care is just as critical as the procedure itself. I always tell clients: keep it simple and protected. Gentle cleansers, a soothing moisturizer, and SPF every day. No active serums, no picking, just let the MENDS shed naturally.”

To make the process seamless, Essence of L sends patients home with a curated aftercare kit. “That way, they don’t have to guess what to use,” she says. Once healing is complete, Leah reintroduces brightening actives like vitamin C or tranexamic acid to prolong results. “And SPF—always SPF. It’s the single best way to preserve your investment.”

The Bottom Line

Moxi may not be a dramatic, one-and-done fix, but that’s its power. By stimulating collagen, refining texture, and correcting pigment in a gentle, cumulative way, it offers a true investment in long-term skin health. “With the right plan and aftercare, patients not only heal beautifully but continue to see progressive improvement long after their treatment,” Leah says.

At the end of the day, Moxi is more than a trend—it’s a modern approach to skin health that’s accessible, adaptable, and designed for real life. Or as Leah puts it: “Moxi gives subtle but meaningful changes. You’ll look refreshed, more even, and more resilient. It’s about creating skin that’s healthy from the inside out.”

I started a candle shop needing an e-commerce site. Wanted affordable developers. Found https://s-pro.io/ and their site shows finance cases. Their MVP and team augmentation fit small budgets. Honestly, their case studies were helpful. I liked their practical solutions and focus on delivering value for small retail.
